New York drop technique

I was browsing a website and they show me a new trick to open a knife. Its called "New York drop" techniques where you hold the blade and flick the handle down. the technique is ok but to me, its kinda dangerous as you are holding the blade in your hand and the handle down. I think this move suits throwing knives better. As usual, do not try this at home kids.

PS. Pardon the video, its kinda long as I use a new video converter. Anyone knows a good converter?

If you are opening a knife for throwing, then perhaps the handle should point upward?

What do I know about throwing knife? Well, when I was younger (lower secondary school, I think), I used to throw similar flip-open knives at paper cartons stacked up in my room (come to think of it, I never bothered to check what were inside those cartons; might have damaged a few "family heirlooms". Ha).

And I was quite good at it then. Missing (not sticking) only occasionally.

Trust me, you're not the only one with a dark side. :-p
