3 songs in my head

Today the new semester start, it was drizzling in the morning, and my class starts at 8. Then 3 songs played in my head to react to my situation.

Del Shannon - Runaway

I'm a walkin' in the rain
Tears are fallin' and I feel a pain
A wishin' you were here by me
To end this misery

Knocking on Heaven's Door - Guns n Roses

Mama put my guns in the ground
I can't shoot them anymore
That cold black cloud is comin' down
Feels like I'm knockin' on heaven's door

Britney Spears - If You Seek Amy
Love me hate me
Oh, say what you want about me?
Oh, but can’t you see what I see?
(Love me Hate me)
Oh, say what you want about me?
La la la, la la la la la

Back to Hometown..

Just arrived back in Penang after 2 days away. I went back to my hometown this weekend..

Saturday morning, at the office for meeting, the weather was bad again...Always dreaded meetings..sigh.

After the meeting, went back via the highway, and it was going to rain again...

Managed to outrun the rain. Actually my bike has undergone repair, and it seems jerky at low speed, but when i go fast it seems no problem...

Nothing much to do at home, just sit and read magazines. Here are some random pics from home..

My cat

Then suddenly I saw this, I bet a lot of you never seen a rhinoceros beetle before.

Today is Merdeka Day for Malaysia. When I ponder back at the fight for independence, I truly believe the politicians of yesteryear were more honest than the one today. That is the feeling that I have.

20 more days of fasting before Raya...

Voices by Rev Theory

I hear voices in my head,
They counsel me, they understand.
They talk to me.

You got your rules and your religion,
All designed to keep you safe.
But when rules start getting broken,
You start questioning your faith.

I have a voice that is my savior,
Hates to love and loves to hate.
I have a voice that has the knowledge,
And the power to rule your fate.

I hear voices crying.
I see heroes dying.
I taste blood that´s drying.
I feel tension rising.

I hear voices in my head,
They counsel me, they understand.
They talk to me, they talk to me.

They tell me things that I will do,
They show me things I´ll do to you.
They talk to me, they talk to me.

All the lawyers are defenseless,
All the doctors are diseased.
And the preachers are all sinners,
And police just take the greeds.
All you judges you are guilty,
All the bosses I will fire.
All your banks will have losses,
Politicians, all the liars.

I see darkness falling.
I hear voices calling.
I feel justice crawling.
I see faith has fallen.

I hear voices in my head,
They counsel me, they understand.
They talk to me, they talk to me.

They tell me things that I will do,
They show me things I´ll do to you.
They talk to me, they talk to me.

Random thoughts

Today there is no fancy picture or videos. Its just my feeling from the bottom of my heart..

I took 6 days of leave after the final exams. I guess the toll of last semester finally got to me. Even after 5 days, I am still feeling tired and burned out. Do you think lecturers like to fail students? The answer is no, we will try our best by reviewing the assignments and exam paper just to find the "extra" marks. For 1 person, I reviewed his exam paper like 10 times.

Some of my students who just got back from overseas found jobs already. I guess the economic situation is not so bad anymore. Actually during the semester, my mind is focused on the class at hand and I have no time to think about other stuff. But when I am free, then my mind wanders, and I keep thinking, is this worth doing anymore? Is it really worth it? Maybe I found the answers already. All those failed i hope you all remember, I gave you 14 weeks of chance to study and ask questions but you did not give me chance in the final exam....

I feel like buying new clothes for the new semester, but I feel none of you are worthy of my new clothes. So I did not buy yet. This morning I went to Gurney, the salesgirl told me, don't buy today, buy tomorrow because tomorrow we give vouchers. I will consider, ha ha. Actually I was looking at the clothes, but none really attract me.

And it rained heavily today. I was soaked like 3 times. First when i was from gurney to queensbay. Then from queensbay to home. And at night it rained again, and i went out to buy food. I guess its really time for me to seriously consider a car. There is a limit to everything..

See you all in the hell semester. I guess those people that arranged the timetable never even taught for one hour. Just like our education minister...

Giant Currypuff

I was walking around "pasar Ramadan", thinking of what to buy for breaking fast. Was kinda bored with the usual stuff of "Nasi Briyani", "Nasi Kerabu" and the gang.

Then I saw some people were selling giant currypuffs. Usually I was wary of giant currypuffs cause most just look big cause of air, but the fillings were measly. As I was curious, I bought 2 at RM1 each. Not a bad price...

This one the fillings were ample, so not a bad buy. So if you in Penang and in Bayan Baru, can look for the stall that sells the giant currypuff...

Things to ponder...

Once, I swear i will not get involved in these kind of matters, cause I always get burned by it, and in the end, there is no real black or white in this world.

But this issue has left me feeling uneasy, so I will have to speak up again. And before people start jumping blasphemy, let me state that I am a Muslim OK.

It all started with a so called model being fined and whipped for drinking alcohol. At the point of time, I have no problem with the sentence, even though I feel that certain things are not meant to be taught through punishment. How many of you were caned during school, and did the cane really change you? Think about that..

The catch is that she can only be caned inside the prison, and then they set out an arrest warrant for her to be "put" in prison so the sentence can be legally made. This left a bad taste in my mouth, since they improvised to make the sentence legal. You should not bend the rules to your advantage, that's why I feel bad about it. That is not right..

Before everyone starts jumping, I am not defending her for drinking alcohol, I am against this kind of flip flop justice. If you have the guts to sentence her, why not just let the judge can her, why do you have to hide behind the prison protocol...

And now we have this situation that will involve "face" and I feel its a lose-lose situation. If you don't cane her, people say the law is a joke, and if you cane her, a lot of people will say its cruel. and against the law (because of the prison stay). You should not have put your self in this situation in the first place.

Even the Prime Minister is hoping that she appeals...

So let the purist jump and say this is a punishment of God, I just want to ask, do you think by whipping her, you can stop people from drinking alcohol, or make the religion better?

Religious and pious people can leave comments here, other just watch and you can cry if you wish, or laugh if you wish.

Sorry my blog is so serious today..

Update:

Wet wet Sunday

I woke up this morning, and yet another rainy day. It was even worse that yesterday, so nothing to do but sleep on it. And it rained non stop for like the whole day. Nothing else to do but sit at home, facebook, play some online game and watch some dvds...

Really heavy rain, so all my plans were postponed. I took three days of leave to heal, but it seems my injuries (soul) were bad, so I think I need to take more days of leave.

Lucky the rain stopped in the evening, so I can buy food to break fast. So went to Gelugor to buy some food..

This is like "Nasi Briyani", but its called "Nasi Bukhari", as far as I know its only sold during the fasting month, so if you want to try it, now is the time. They come with chicken or beef, and cost about 6 per packet..

This is Kelantanese food called "Nasi Kerabu"..It contains fish, bean sprouts, budu (fermented anchovies) and some other stuff.. ha ha

After 2 hours I was bored and remembered there will be a fashion show at 3 at Queensbay, or so I thought. Arrived at around 2.50 and realized it was at 2..crap. Never mind, there is a violinist show at 3, that will do..

After that went to Sunshine to buy food to break fast....

Last...

Tomorrow fasting starts, so today is the last day to do anything. After that have to wait 1 month.

In the morning, I went to Gurney and had breakfast there. Nothing much going on this weekend, except if you want to buy the new Honda Accord.

Afternoon, went and get my haircut. Was talking to my hair stylist on how more young people were losing their hair. According to her, a lot of people wore too much wax or gel, but did not wash their hair properly, so the layer of oil cover their pores and cause too much hair loss. So you all should get those deep cleansing shampoo. One bottle costs around RM70..ha ha. Oh ya, she is looking for shampoo girl, so anyone interested can contact me. Shampoo GIRL...

Then I went to Queensbay just to walk around, since I have been there yesterday and the day before so nothing much to do. So just walked by the seaside..

Lotsa crows..Someone suggested to have a BBQ here but I said it was not such a good idea..ha ha

Walked to then end, then I saw this fun fair. I bet a lot of you don't know what that is. Its like the circus. In the old days it was very popular, but now, its fate is like the circus, a dying breed..considered the last of the Mohicans..I think they are like because they failed to keep up with the times.

Walked until tired so rest a while. See my Adidas. Sorry Adidas fans, I still feel my Onitsuka Tiger is more comfortable..ha ha. Adidas feels kinda stiff when you walk for too long.

A shot of Queensbay

My last supper, at TGI Fridays

Pepsi, not vinegar..

Sirloin steak. Actually regreted the tomato sauce, mushroom taste better ha ha.

Sasori

When I watch this movie, I had a deja vu of the Japanese movie, Female Prisoner 701: Scorpion. Even the character name was the same, Nami Matsushima, gasp, is it a remake of the original movie. Even the title Sasori- when translated means Scorpion.

Yup, she is prisoner 701 =.=

The original movie in 1972

Meiko Kaji was cuter...

However the storyline was a bit different. Our heroin was threatened by a group of killers to kill her fiance's sister. I don't get this, they were so tough but need to threat a third person into killing someone. It does not compute...

I think this movie is a join Chinese-Japanese effort. Some of the bad guys..

Of course things went bad...

And she was thrown in the most brutal jail on earth..no kidding. They have cage fights

Slimy warden

And some torture device

Eventually she became tougher because of all these fights. She managed to escape and was saved by Corpse Collector..no kidding

Corpse Collector trained her in kung fu..er, I should say fighting skills since she is Japanese actually.

This is a kung fu stance ok..

And he gave her a katana. Where are all these people getting katanas from???

Now its revenge time...

"You and I have unfinished business" - The Bride -Kill Bill Vol 2.

Recommended to people who enjoy this kind of movies. Don't say i did not warn you.

Planet Terror Part 2

Part 1 can be found here.

The group regroup at a steakhouse to fend off the zombies...

"Try not to shoot me in the back" cause he just give a lot of guns to civilians and his deputy did accidentally shoot a civilian at the hospital earlier.

In the diner, they try to finds means of transportation and escape..there is one cool bike

And one classic muscle car

Sure enough, the sheriff was accidentally shot in the neck by his deputy (again). I would not trust a gun to that man. Damn clumsy.

So they decided to fight their way out..

More zombies approaching

So its time to make a break for it.

Still lack 1 place for 1 person. Lucky someone has a pocket bike...

They managed to evade the zombies, but was captured by the military earlier.

They managed to escape, how? you have to watch the movie yourself..

The plan was to capture 2 helicopters and fly to Mexico. The fight is on..

Since the wooden leg was broken when killing the guard, its replaces by a rifle. FYI, the guy killed is actually Quentin Tarantino, one of the most famous director. I am waiting for his latest movie, "Inglorious Bastards".

Ouch

Some of you might be wondering why the military was so interested in them? Cause they are the cure duhh.

They managed to capture the helicopters and decapitate the zombies. What zombies? Actually the military was exposed to the toxic gas while there were on the mission to kill Osama. So they need the gas to stay alive..or turn into zombies

Escape, but the hero took one for the team..

At the Gulf of Mexico now, there is a sanctuary for human against the zombies...

Defender of the sanctuary..
