The Pied Piper of Hamelin is a story about broken promises. The town was infested by rats and they promised to pay whoever managed to chase away the rats. in the end, a Piper managed to do this by playing a pipe and making the rats follow him into the river. After that the townspeople refuse to pay him.
So he played the pipe again and took away all their children.
So the moral of the story is always keep your promises, least the piper decide to extract payment from you.

Forget education. Let's go into politics. There are loads of mindless zombies out there waiting to be manipulated and blindly led.
In the real-life version of the Pied Piper, he came back to town with a different identity and a shining credential, then swiftly worked through the town hierarchy to replace the old mayor, and cut all fundings to the old mayor's pet projects, so that the old mayor will see all his life's works crumble while rotting away helplessly in an old folks establishment.
