End of an era...

Starting tomorrow (I guess), a company that I use to work for will not exist anymore. It will be dissolved. Compared to Inti, that is the second longest company that I worked for from 2001 - 2003. I am sad things turn out this way but I guess that is life and they just depend on one source for income, and when the source does not want to renew the contract, thats it.

I was with the company since psdc was freaking small until its freaking big today. The company is one of the training provider for psdc during those days. I still remember the small pond where we use to watch fish. I still remember carrying stuff during the movement from the old psdc building to the new psdc building. I still remember the incident with CL where first someone stepped on her shoes, then I accidentlky step the second time until the straps broke (was that me, I was kinda blur?). And I still remember conducting training 9-5 then have class 6.30-10.30 =.=.

I still remember the "little monster" a girl who is smaled sized but makes so much noise until I had to buy wafers just to fill her mouth to keep her quiet ^^. I still remember the horrible batch 9 that raises people's blood pressure and even i lost patience with them once. Still remember when Moven had a mild heart attack and had to be send to the hospital...

During those days I was a gaming freak and used to recommend games to my co workers and even lending them my cds. Then during tea we would discuss the walkthrough or even some quest that someone got stuck at. And we would have breakfast at 9 am, lunch around 12 or 1 and tea at 3.30. Those were the good old times..Sometimes for lunch we would walk out and buy food at the Malay stall outside (is it still there?). And Yani will be calculating how many cans of milk he can buy with the salary.

But things change, or I should say people change. I dare not say the relation between some of the co worker and the company is still amiable. Some might not be able to sit together in one table now. Too many things have happened since then...

All I can say is farewell, we might have good and bad memories, but i was glad I had the chance to serve you for around 3 years. Anyone wants to apply inti, 3 of us are here already...

Random Thoughts of the day

We lost another one today..another lecturer got a job somewhere. Good for them. But not IT school. Everytime I hear this news, I feel glad for them cause they got better prospect already. What about me, soon. In the meantime, I would like to quote the song "Runaway" by Del Shannon..

I'm a-walking in the rain
To the bone I feel the pain
Wishing you were here by me
To end this misery
And I wonder, wonder
Why, you ran away
And I wonder if you will stay
My little runaway, my runaway

Its the intro to a great series "Crime Story" back in the 80s. ha ha. You are not here yet..

I was looking for a notebook yesterday, look at all the mini notebook. Actually I bought a notebook for my sister this month, if buy another one for myself sure faint, so looking for cheap ones. In the end it seems this mini notebook cannot be upgraded, so decided to buy a normal notebook, now still searching. hmmm

A lot of people are shopping these days so decided not to buy new clothes (for now =.=), but I really need a new shoe cause mine is getting old. If buy clothes, I really feel like buying black colored ones...

The best job in the WORLD!!!!

I saw this job advertisement like a few week ago. Its an "Island Caretaker" at the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. 6 months contract = = AUD150000 O.o. You can get more info on www.islandreefjob.com. Closing date is like 22 Feb 2009 I think..

What is it that need to be done? According to the website:-
"Whilst employed for Tourism Queensland the employee will be required to participate in a number of set itineraries that allow them to experience and immerse themselves in the Islands of the Great Barrier Reef and showcase their unique experiences through a video diary, plus submitting diary/blog entries of their experiences, which will also be uploaded to the website."

You have to make a 60 seconds video on why you should be selected and upload to their website. Hmmm...

Makan

Sorry for not updating my blog for some time. Been busy settling some issues. har har..

Yesterday afternoon a few of my ex students came over for a visit. They are now studying their degree already.

Then in the evening we had dinner with Justin. Sorry no photo of the event. But the main organizer was not there as he had to fly plane haha...Had it at some nasi kandar stall...
And thanks Justin belanja us all :D

Then after dinner some people still hungry wanna have second dinner. I think dessert is the more appropriate word. They had trouble explaining the dessert name to me until I said Leng Chee Kang (correct spelling I think).

So off we go to Jelutong market, passed by the famous burger stall, pity the transporter is not here :P.

Top 10 irritants

It seems that Oxford has done some research and come up with a Top 10 irritants word. The list goes as

The top 10 most irritating phrases:

1) At the end of the day
2) Fairly unique
3) I personally
4) At this moment in time
5) With all due respect
6) Absolutely
7) It’s a nightmare
8) Shouldn’t of
9) 24/7
10) It’s not rocket science

Hmm, I think I also have one of those lists

1) This software is so good and damn powerful (until it blocks all other software and thus is useless)
2) "Sir, how do we install the Java software?" 1 week after failing the second test =.=
3) You should upgrade your software (just for the sake of upgrading, then the PC hang).
4) We should simplify the process (and come out of tons of form to fill in to simplify the process).
5) Quality Documentation == Quality Teaching
6) Why are we doing this? Its the procedure (which no one can actually explain the rationale behind).
7) "Sir, can I ask you a question?" at 11.59 pm via Messenger.
8) Hmm, we should give a talk on the students so they are more independent, by the way, its compulsory for them to attend =.=
9) "Why won't you buy our product, its so good" (Why would I buy it, I don't need it)
10) "Do you want to have financial independent?" followed by me locking an STF on them...

Chapter 3 for your Final Year Project

Basically Chapter 3 is Proposed Design Methodology/Framework (How are you gonna do the system/project)

You can come up with the general design first. Then explain part by part

For example Query Generator

3.4 Query Generation

In generating the query, there are a few steps that need to be taken.

The first step is tagging the question sentence. The tagged sentence is then checked
against the grammar that was created out of all the questions anticipated from the user to
check whether the questions is valid or not. If it is not a valid question, then an error
message will be displayed. In this system the QTAG tagger is used.

The semantic interpreter subsequently transforms the parse to the intermediate logic
query, using semantic rules similar to the mapping rules described in the pattern
matching architecture.

The logical query is then converted into SQL by a database generator. In this system, I
will use pattern matching techniques where a pattern is mapped to an SQL.

Question = How many components are there
Tagged Output = "WRB PDT NNS BER EX "
Mapped SQL = SELECT * FROM components;

For more flexibility, we can use extracting substring method, where X is the variable
Question: How many X are there
Mapped SQL = Select * FROM X;

In JAVA, we can use the substring method to retrieve the variable as we count the
position of the variable.
Question: How many components are there?
Question: How many objectives are there?

Mapped SQL = Select * FROM Question.substring (10, y);

Then maybe you can discuss about the database design, ie. fields, relationships

Hope this helps

Action speaks louder than words? O____O

Cops identify man who hit Dong Zong president

KAJANG: Police have identified the man who punched New Era College senate chairman Dr Yap Sin Tian during the convocation on Sunday.

Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Shakaruddin Che Mood said they were also studying the closed-circuit TV clip to determine the gravity of the assault.

Dr Yap was punched while giving a speech. The attacker was wearing a shirt used by members of a fund-raising event at the college and is said to be a former student.

ACP Shakaruddin declined to say if the attack was linked to a squabble between Dr Yap and the college’s former principal Dr Kua Kia Soong.

Dr Yap, who is Dong Zong (United Chinese School Commit-tees Association of Malaysia) president, is said to have supported the decision not to extend Dr Kua’s contract when it expired last month.

Dr Kua has condemned the attack.

“Of course I am not involved. I am no longer working in the college,” he said.

He added that the man who had punched Dr Yap had done damage to the cause he and others were fighting for, which was for a more democratic college.

Deputy Higher Education Minister Dr Hou Kok Chung expressed shock and regret over the incident.

“I hope all parties involved will be able to give their cooperation to the police so that the case can be solved as soon as possible,” he said at Parliament yesterday.

He said the assault had marred the image of private institutions of higher learning.

Swordsman Theme Song

A song for this crazy world of ours....

"Hero of Heroes" (aka "A Laugh at the World" or "A Single Laughter in the Sea")

The seas laugh, lashing on both shores.
Carried in the waves, we only know the here and now.

The heavens laugh at the troubled world.
Only they know who is to win and lose.

The mountains laugh, the rain is afar.
When the waves grow old, the world still goes on.

The clear winds laugh, such a feeling of solitude.
Bygone camaraderie, leaving behind a tinge of melancholy.

The earth laughs, solitude no more.
My sentiments laughing still.

The world is not black and white but shades of gray

I am writing this blog in great sadness with the murder of Palestinians in Gaza. And more questions than answers in my mind.

I once talked with a Christian friend on where is God when Hitler killed the Jews, where was God when 911 happened and his answer is this is a fallen world, waiting for Kingdom of Heaven (which many believe is Palestine). That's why there we so many Holy Crusades to the Holy Land I guess.

Mine is a more simplistic answer. God does not interfere in the business of man. Its man themselves that have to settle all the mess that they create. It's like man create buildings and when they collapse, they say "It's an act of God". There are so many Arab countries around but they do nothing and expect me to raise my hand to the sky and cry "God"???.

So some people say "Boycott American products!!!". The problem is how do we differentiate America as an entity or America as a country?. Its like a few Muslim blew themselves up and then people generalize "All Muslim are terrorist". Aren't we doing the same thing then??. And can these people tell me exactly what is American Product? Coke? Its produced here locally. Microsoft?? Intel processors? There is no black and white in this world...only shades of gray or even blood red.

Rather than that, I believe the countries should work together rather than fight over trivial things. Then only can we manage to achieve something...

Random thoughts on Sex and Chopsticks

Finally managed to get the dvd to work completely. Using another computer now. Here are some random scenes.

Torpedo soup, Chinese Style. If you don't know what is torpedo soup, its the cow's penis. You can eat torpedo soup at any Nasi Kandar stall at night even though its costly. In my previous job, we took one Singaporean Engineer to eat torpedo soup and did not tell him until after he has eaten it. The look on his face, as the credit card advertising say "Priceless".

This is where the movie gets the title. One pair of chopsticks and lotsa sex.

This brothel is super high class. They even set 2 conditions before accepting customers.

The first one does make sense, however the second one, well, look for yourself.

The agreement is you cannot revealed what happen there or..

they will hire a killer to kill you. Hmm, I wonder how they retain thier customer. Its like the sales department head saying to the manager "Sir, our sales for this month have dropped cause we killed a few of our customers"

This happens to me a lot, especially when I go to Gurney or Queensbay....

But this is not my thought when that happen ha ha....

If you read the novel, you know this short guy is super dead =.=

Truthzz tag me

I have been tagged so here is my 16 random thoughts

1. I am half asleep in front of my computer
2. I am wondering how can I get that US balisong that cost USD189
3. Feeling a bit down, I never trouble people but people cause trouble for me
4. Wondering what to wear tomorrow
5. Cursing people that owe me money but pay back super late
6. Should I buy another shirt?
7. Should I buy another pair of pants
8. I wanna eat McD prosperity burger, but RM15 is just not worth it
9. Seed shirt is on cheap sale, but they never have my size on these sales...
10 Intimas sells bras and panties...
11. I am a knife freak, gonna get another one
12. They sell these cosplay whip and handcuff at Gurney New Wing
13. I eat EMOs for breakfast
14. Have not eaten cheesecake for a while
15. swiss army knives are still the best
16. I can stand blood and gore, but scared to watch ghost movie...

Balisong trick

If you have your balisong with you right now, you can try this trick. Finally figured out how they twirl the knife like that. Gonna go back and try on mine

The best lines from the Dark Knight

Dunno why these lines kept ringing in my head recently...

The Joker to Batman

To them, you're just a freak, like me! They need you right now, but when they don't, they'll cast you out, like a leper! You see, their morals, their code, it's a bad joke. Dropped at the first sign of trouble. They're only as good as the world allows them to be. I'll show you. When the chips are down, these... these civilized people, they'll eat each other. See, I'm not a monster. I'm just ahead of the curve.

or this one

The Joker: Do you want to know why I use a knife? Guns are too quick. You can't savor all the... little emotions. In... you see, in their last moments, people show you who they really are. So in a way, I know your friends better than you ever did. Would you like to know which of them were cowards?

And I do have a little collection like the Joker...

Tokyo Gore Police

I waited half a year for this movie, I come to know about it from Machine Girl. Today I passed by the dvd shop and the aunt said there is a new movie for me. To my surprise its Tokyo Gore Police, yay..Oh boy, I was so excited.

In the near future, the police force in Japan has been privatized. Now they look like half ninja, half samurai with the ridiculous helmet and black suit. This is not the first time the police force has been privatized, remember Detroit in Robocop?

The criminals are also getting advanced. Some of them, when injured, will mutate and the injured part will turn into a weapon. Here is a psycho attached to a chainsaw.

Here is the funny part. They are called Engineer. Thank God I am in the IT field. Come to think of it, Politician would be an appropriate name ^^.

Ruka is our heroine. Her dad was a police too but he was killed when she was small. More on this later.

I thought she was gonna shoot the engineer with a bazooka but she used it to launch herself up the building to stop the engineer. Haven't she heard of stairs or lifts?

I definitely love a girl with a katana..When not fighting Engineers, she is busy executing perverts that grope girls in trains. Don't you always want to this. This is way cool...

One day she met a mysterious engineer, she managed to cut off half the top face but the engineer managed to get the better of her. Suprisingly the engineer did not kill her, instead he gave her a mysterious key and said "Remember everything". All engineers have special key in them so hmmm....

Everyone wants to be Neo =.=

Using the face that she managed to slice off, she managed to trace the owner to an institute and got a bunch of addresses. The chief was pissed when he heard she was investigating this.

In the meanwhile, a police decide to go to a "confort house". With the entertainers like this, I was very sure something bad will happen to him..

number 69 LOL

Snail girl...WTF

Thankfully he has good taste and choose number 69, but before you get any 69 action, it was revealed its a trap..see, I told you. He was captured and turned into an engineer.

Which goes into a rampage at the police station the next day...

Don't even ask ok =.=

He managed to kill lotsa police before they finally stop him. The police chief was very angry and ordered the men to hunt down all engineers, even suspected one..

In the meanwhile, Ruka followed the last lead and came face to face with the mysterious engineer. The moment of truth..

I was so scared that he will say "Ruka, I am your father". But luckily not. He tell the story of a retired sniper that has a son, the son study genetic engineering but did not have enough money. So the father decided to take a last job offered by someone. The job was to kill a policeman that opposes the privatition of the police force. Ruka's father was a policeman and he was killed right, so you put 2 and 2 together. The sniper was killed afterwards by someone (the person who hired him of course).

During the time, the son was studying the genetics of all the famous serial killers.

Hey, where's Bush name??

Upon hearing about his father's death, he injected all the gene of all the seriel killers to seek revenge. In a moment of madness he jumped off the building and woke up at a big door. A sort of demon like creature gave him the key. When he woke up out of the coma, the doctors found a key in his body. He cloned the key and its the base of all engineers...

Then he said he has no fight with Ruka and the person that ordered the hit on Ruka's father was of course the police chief...

In the meanwhile the police was busy killing everyone suspected of being in engineer, which means lotsa innocent people get killed.

Upon returning and seeing a lot of civilians were killed by the police, she was angry and it invoked the engineer power inside her (remember she was given a key ok). So off to face the chief.

But before that she has to go through a guy with a hand cannon, literally LOL. This cannon shoots out hand. no kidding =.=

Then dunno what creature it this, its a girl who's arm and legs were cut off and replaced with katana..

Finally the chief..
Ruka salutes her dead father. Notice the engineer hand and eye..

If you like my review, I would appreciate it very much if you click on some of the ads on the right. At least I can make some money. Thanks.
